David Avila brings a strong business acumen to his pivotal role as principal of the San Francisco office. His mission is to continue to build on a foundation of excellence through critical organisational tools and time and cost saving methodologies. He oversees the firm’s design, business development, contract administration, quality control and client relations. David’s passion for architecture comes from a respect for the buildings and places created by designers that came before him. This appreciation of the past influences his current work and inspires him to continually push himself toward a higher standard of design excellence.
His career spans over twenty-six years and includes working with national and international organisations as well as with leading architectural firms. His leadership skills are sought, in part, for his ability to evaluate project objectives from a designer’s, as well as a user’s perspective, thereby balancing the goals of everyone involved. His comprehensive understanding of the architectural process gives him the flexibility to explore new ideas and to create unexpected design solutions.
