Highland House Clayfield

Details

Highlands House has been adapted as a community facility for the residents of the long established seniors village at Clayfield. The heritage building contains
a formal dining room, library and flexible/multipurpose rooms. The design incorporates generous outdoor landscaped recreational areas which will provide strong connectivity to the other nearby buildings within the village.

The original building was built in the 1870s, meaning it is one of the earliest surviving houses in Brisbane. The newly completed restoration and adaptation of Highlands House has satisfied both the AVEO Clayfield brief and the heritage requirements. This will ensure that this culturally important house will continue to be a part of Brisbane’s wider heritage providing its citizens enjoyment for perhaps another 100 years.
