The Tarragindi Bowls Club Development has been designed to maximise the potential for this unique island site that is hidden away behind the tree lined entry-boulevard and beside the Tarragindi Recreational Reserve. Central to the design thinking is the desire to provide a new bowls club facility that will inject a revived communal energy into the precinct in combination with the offer of a mix of senior’s living units. Whilst the site is currently zoned as sports and recreational land it offers an ideal location to combine an offering for the wider community with the integration of medium density seniors living.
The community hub that is envisaged will create a long term, sustainable, low maintenance and high quality offering that will add value to Tarragindi’s sense of social interplay. The project seeks to exemplify and merge various opposing parameters in to a viable low impact community based development that also provides for the integration of seniors living on the back of a much required overhaul of the Tarragindi Bowls Club.
We envisage a place where people re-unite over a game of bowls, meet with friends, have a celebration but also decide to settle and live in an apartment within a community when living independently in a house is no longer feasible.
The architecture is respectful of its adjacencies and sits well within the tree line of the reserve. The impact of bulk and scale of the project has been well considered and particular attention has been paid in the preparation of the design to minimise any potential issues. We have embraced opportunities for community linkages through and with the site to truly integrate the development into its suburban context.
