Marchese + Partners have just been chosen to design two new exclusive resorts in Queensland. The first is a 20+ villa, residential resort in a luxurious Port Douglas setting and the second is a groundbreaking eco-resort, which aims to be the ‘first of its kind’ in Australia. The two new projects add to the growing M+P hotel and resort portfolio, which also includes another five star Port Douglas resort and the Mercure Hotel in Townsville.

Chifley Hotel Complete

M+P Interiors have recently completed the $20M refurbishment of the landmark Chifley hotel. The rooms have been upgraded to 4.5 star, entry lobby relocated and a vibrant new reception, bar, restaurant and function area have been created. The lower level is a seductive and moody transition space, cool and restrained in its palette, punctuated with flashes of vibrant colour and textural variety. The upper level is flooded with light, its plan promoting movement and transparency, as the various functional areas blend into one another. The Chifley Hotel adds to M+P's growing portfolio of successfully completed hotel and resort projects.

Port Douglas Resort, Queensland

M+P's design for a 200 apartment 5 star resort hotel has been approved and is soon to start construction.
The resort is planned to take advantage of its spectacular setting and provide a new benchmark for far North Queensland apartment design. The complex has been designed with a framed view of the Mosman Gorge, the resort's restaurants and bars will enjoy views of the sunset over the Gorge as well as the Mirage Golf course that adjoins the site.

Freshwater, Hervey Bay

Sydney based developer Oakstand Property Group has launched one of Hervey Bay’s most luxurious apartment developments, to cater for the domestic and international tourism markets.
The $35 million Freshwater Resort and Spa, which will include 67 apartments within metres of Scarness Beach, was designed by Marchese + Partners and will offer a range of short-term and permanent contemporary accommodation options. Principal and Managing Director of M+P, Steve Zappia, said 'Freshwater is one of a number of tourism based apartment projects we are working on in Queensland and NSW. We have been able to bring our contemporary modern design aesthetic to these types of projects, which have traditionally been missing from some of these tourist based markets, such as Hervey Bay.'
