Links Seaside Complete

The 'Links Seaside' seniors living development, in Wollongong, is now complete. The Marchese + Partners' designed project has achieved outstanding sales results and on completion is now considered one of the finest three tier Seniors Living developments in Australia.

The luxury, two and a half hectare, development offers the very best in coastal living being located on the stunning Links golf course which runs alongside Wollongong's City Beach. Marchese + Partners design for this flagship development has raised the bar for the design of three tier seniors living developments by combining high quality independent living with a state of the art on-site care facility.

Marchese + Partners have been instrumental in the success of the links seaside project. By re-planning the project through a Section 96 amendment, M+P were able to add an additional 38 apartments within the same building envelope. By incorporating twin core's and dual orientated apartments to the two 8 storey apartment buildings, the number of apartments was increased substantially and the amount of unsaleable corridor space was reduced. The revised scheme also provided virtually all the apartments with the prime north facing views over the golf course and beach. In addition, M+P rationalised the planning of the amenities and care facility building removing a substantial amount of floor area improving the efficiency and feasibility of the whole project. M+P's expertise in apartment planning and there acute understanding of building economics helped turn this project into reality.

The $90million 'Links Seaside' resort includes 154 independent living apartments and 113 aged care units, 40 serviced apartments an impressive port cochere and entrance, substantial lobby and lounge areas, a luxurious restaurant and bar, day spa and lap pool and hydrotherapy pool, a library and spectacular fully landscaped gardens.

The sales success of 'Links Seaside' is just reward for the time and energy put in by M+P to make sure their designs set new benchmarks in Seniors Living. M+P Principal and Founding Partner, Steve Zappia, explained, 'Marchese + Partners' research in this market sector is always ongoing. It includes an annual educational tour of global retirement facilities and a long standing close relationship with the Retirement Village Association.'  M+P will again be present at this year's national RVA Conference in Perth.

The 'Links Seaside' development is the latest in a growing M+P portfolio of successfully completed Seniors Living projects. The portfolio also includes the award-winning 'Waterbrook Greenwich' development, on Sydney's Lower North Shore.

New Apartment Project in Gordon Planned

Marchese +  Partners was recently commissioned by a Chinese based development company to design a residential development for a site  in Dumeresque Street, Gordon, NSW.

Marchese + Partners' design has increased the potential yield on the  site by taking  advantage of increased attic level space that the sloping site makes available. The proposal incorporates 60 apartments compared to the 54 that were originally thought possible. This innovative and clever design solution is a  great result for the project and substantially  increases the saleable area achieved on the site. The DA for the project has recently been lodged with Ku-rin-gai Council.
