Lindfield Apartments Approved
Marchese + Partners design for a 27 apartment residential building in Gladstone Parade, Lindfield has been approved by Ku-Ring-Gai Council. Marchese + Partners worked closely with the council to negotiate a successful outcome for our client by ensuring that the proposal met with council's stringent urban design requirements which include bulk and scale provisions, maximum height, number of storeys, site coverage, top storey controls, FSR, facade articulation and side boundary setbacks.
M+P's design responds to the changing character of the area which is undergoing a change from low to medium density residential and is consistent with the draft planning controls as well as the current zoning controls. The proposal has also received concurrence from the Rail Authority, under the provisions of NSW SEPP (Infrastructure) 2007, as the site is located above the sub terrain Epping to Chatswood rail corridor.
The design intent is to provide a high quality residential development that fits in with the desired future character of the locality - the proposal relates well to the scale of the existing streetscape and provides a modern and dynamic benchmark for architectural design in the locality.
The project is expected to start construction in mid 2009.
