Marchese Partners is a global consultancy with offices in Australia, NZ, Asia, the UK and Spain.
Over the past two decades Marchese Partners has embarked on a mission to enhance the standard of Seniors Living and Aged Care design globally, and design environments for residents to live their best lives, achieving longevity.
This commitment includes Marchese Partners forming research alliances with Universities and industry leaders to understand all aspects of ageing including issues such as social isolation, loneliness and dementia which are often underestimated or not even considered by many designers.
In Australia Marchese have designed multiple award-winning Seniors Living and Aged Care projects. These include landmark developments such as Bernborough Ascot for Lendlease, IRT Parkside, Aveo Springfield, Aveo Clayfield, Mark Moran Vaucluse, Waterbrook Greenwich, Watermark Castle Cove & Retire Australia Glengara Care and Gaynes Park for LifeCare.
In Zhuhai City, China we are designing a large scale International Healthy Living Park & Retirement community that will revolutionise ageing and care within a progressive new city environment. Their design philosophies have been tailored to target the local Chinese and Hong Kong markets and are currently receiving international interest in this model of care across Asia.
Marchese Partners are working on a number of new and exciting ground-breaking integrated, later living developments in the UK. Founded on the global expertise of the practice and on-going research, these developments will deliver a new paradigm and will set a new benchmark for intergenerational living in the UK.
In New Zealand we are working on multiple large scale fully integrated Later Living destinations that will deliver the local market tailored living and care precincts.
We are advocates & leaders of the later living sector and have contributed on the topic of the delivery of ‘age friendly & dementia friendly housing’ both nationally and internationally.
The global ageing issue requires a multidisciplinary approach and architecture is only a very small piece in the puzzle of finding equitable and appropriate solutions. At Marchese we look to connect and interrogate beyond the ‘architectural realm’ so we can provide a holistic approach to finding solutions to ageing.
The world is
changing
Marchese Partners understand that designing for changing communities globally is a complex and dynamic social construct that requires innovative collective and collaborative solutions. Housing is a basic human need. It has moved beyond being a place for shelter and safety – a home can help create a sense of identity and validate one’s self-esteem and contribute to one’s wellbeing. For Marchese Partners designing housing is about creating spaces that contribute to create an authentic community. Spaces with a sense of connection place and purpose. Approaches to designing for humanness like legibility, familiarity and autonomy, feeling valued, comfortable, connected and dignified are also elements that inform our thinking. Universal design principles need to be embraced with view to creating environments that are able to be used by people of all backgrounds and ethnicity, regardless of age, or mental or physical ability or disability, or religious or spiritual beliefs and of course gender. Central to any design thinking is sustainability. To build better with less is an approach that should inform any design brief.
