125 Queen Street
The original Bank of New Zealand building located at 125 Queen Street, Auckland, was designed by Melbourne architect Leonard Terry in 1865, four years after the bank was founded. The facade stood out in Queen Street as it was one of the first stone buildings in a largely wooden town. In 1986 the building was substantially altered, the original façade was retained and a high rise office building was added above.
In 2014 we, at Marchese Partners, were given the opportunity to provide a design solution to revitalize the original iconic character of the tower providing it with a unique look, facilities and amenities.
