Guild Living, Bath UK
Guild Living’s first, landmark project located on the River Avon in the historic centre of Bath aims to change the paradigm of later living in the UK. The project is split into 4 linear buildings, which assist with the permeability through the site and encourages the strong pedestrian links into the City centre. The buildings consist of 282 Guild Living residences, 30 Guild Care suites and 5 Guild care residences, allowing for ageing in place and care security.
The ground floor of block B consists of 2,000m2 of amenity space which acts as a catalyst for the intergenerational uses on this floor, consisting of a nursery, B1 office space, cafe, restaurant, pool, gym and consulting rooms. The buildings are placed within carefully considered landscaped spaces that encourage interaction and allow for quiet spaces for the residents.
The architecture has been derived from historical references of the sites past use and aims to create a new and vibrant architecture in Bath, that is both open and engaging, but homely and welcoming for the future Guild members.
